“Second Chances: The Thrift Shop Musical” | Broadway Palm Dinner Theater
May 1 – May 12

A funny, yet inspirational musical comedy about the quirky characters that run The Second Chances Thrift Shop. You’ll meet the hilarious lead clerk who always brings sunshine to the day with humor, the couple who work in the collection area who discover that you can find love later in life, the young mother and new shop manager trying to start over, and more! When the thrift shop is threatened to be sold by the greedy landlord, the team won’t stand for it. Spend a year with the loveable, yet quirky, group and see how they band together to save the shop and in the process, discover it’s not just old treasures that are getting Second Chances! Sunset Celebration | Cape Coral Yacht Club
May 1 from 3pm-sunset

This family-friendly event features vendors selling unique arts & crafts, jewelry, gift items and more. There will also be food trucks on hand so you can grab a bite to eat and listen to live music on the beach while enjoying a beautiful SW Florida sunset.

Art Walk | Downtown Fort Myers
May 3 from 6-10pm

A must do in the River District social scene is the monthly Art Walk. Always on the First Friday, visit the many exciting galleries, exhibitions, and performances. Free to the public with many venues featuring additional attractions and specials.

24th Annual Taste of the Beach | Fort Myers Beach
May 5 from 11am-4pm

Enjoy tasty samples from local area restaurants as well as great live entertainment on Old San Carlos Blvd. just down the street from Times Square. Admission is $5 for adults and children over 12. Children under 12 are free. Food tickets will be $1.00 each, with a $5 average food serving price. Live music will be provided.

Cinco de Mayo | Miromar Outlets

Yappy Hour | Bell Tower Shops

This is a free event open to the public with proceeds from the event to benefit the Gulf Coast Humane Society.

Blues, Brew & BBQ Festival | Naples
May 10 from 5-9pm & May 11 from 11am-9pm

The 9th Annual event returns to Historic Tin City in Naples.  The two-day event will feature its traditional offerings of great food, fresh blue crabs from Pinchers, live music, craft beers, award-winning BBQ from Texas Tony’s Rib House, vendors and kids activities and is FREE to attend.

43rd Annual Great Dock Canoe Race| Naples
May 11 from 9am-2pm

Held at The Dock at Crayton Cove!  This year’s theme is “Heroes and Villains”. The Naples Junior Chamber “Jaycees” have selected local nonprofit organization Collier County 4-H Association as this year’s charity beneficiary. Newly introduced this year, the Naples Jaycees will offer free entry into the Theme Canoe Race for any one team representing registered nonprofit organizations in Collier County.

Bike Night | Downtown Fort Myers
May 11 from 6-10pm

Six Bends Harley Davidson invites you to enjoy the sights of hundreds of motorcycles displayed along the downtown streets while listening to live bands. Free to the public with many venues featuring specials.

The River District comes alive on the third Friday of the month as local and regional musicians line the streets. From jazz and blues to rock & roll, many genres can be heard and vary each month. Free to the public with many venues featuring additional attractions and specials.

River District Food and Brew Festival | Burroughs Home & Gardens
May 25 from 12-8pm

Enjoy unlimited beer, live music, and food along the river. This event will feature LOCAL SWFL breweries and the best restaurants in SWFL serving up tastes of their finest offerings.  100% of proceeds will benefit the Uncommon Friends Foundation! You won’t want to miss this!

Car Cruise-In | Downtown Fort Myers
May 26 from 10am-2pm

Family Friendly and free to the public with many venues featuring additional specials.  Show Cars: Roads close at 8:30 am for vehicular and pedestrian traffic safety, please DO NOT begin arriving and staging cars until then. This event fills quickly and to ensure an orderly lineup please enter at First and Monroe Street to follow the flow of traffic.


Inaugural Memorial Day Parade| Downtown Cape Coral
May 27 from 12pm-3pm

Please join us for a day to celebrate and honor the memory of those that have fallen in defense of our freedom. Presented by the SWFL Military Museum & Library in partnership with the City of Cape Coral Parks & Recreation Department the parade will be on Cape Coral Pkwy.  After the parade, there will be a luncheon at the SWFL Military Museum & Library. There will be food, beverages, and entertainment.
