Cape Coral, Fla. (March 29, 2017) – Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties (Habitat) and Aubuchon Homes have teamed up to build a new single family home in just one week during the nationwide Home Builders Blitz week, June 5-9, 2017. The new three bedroom, two bath house will provide a family of four a safe and affordable place to call home. Currently, the future Habitat homeowner, Rubie, and her three children share a two bedroom house with her parents and younger brother. She will work alongside Habitat and Aubuchon Homes to help build and then purchase the three bedroom, two bath home with an affordable mortgage.
Home Builders Blitz is a nationwide partnership with Habitat for Humanity affiliates and their local building industry that aims to build homes for families in a one week period (June 5-9, 2017). Gary Aubuchon, a Habitat board member and President of Aubuchon Team of Companies, knew he had to get his team involved. “Aubuchon Homes marks its 25th anniversary this year and what better way to celebrate than by giving back to our community in one of the most meaningful and quickest home building projects we’ve ever undertaken”, said Aubuchon.
In accordance with the Home Builders Blitz schedule, Rubie and her family will partner with Aubuchon Homes to build a single family home in only one week with the help of local subcontractors and volunteers. A kickoff event is set for June prior to the beginning of construction.
Since 1982, Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties has served over 1,400 families and housed more than 3,000 individuals. Through the use of volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, homes are sold to families in need at an affordable mortgage making homeownership a reality. Since 1992, Aubuchon Homes has designed and built more than 500 homes; this year they celebrate their 25th Anniversary in business.
